We cordially invite you to our new quilt show, Pinwheels and Friends – For the Love of Quilting, November 15-17, 2018.
Honoring Friend Quilters
This year we will have a quilt display with a twist. Often we think prize winning quilts - although beautiful - can intimidate the “average” quilter. We want to bring back the reason we all quilt-For the Love of Quilting.
We are inviting 6-8 quilters—to display their work. These quilters are friends who may or may not have entered their quilts at shows and usually do not receive the kudos they deserve. We feel it is important to celebrate these people because of their achievements and hear their stories of how and why they quilt. Each of these guest quilters will show about 20 of their projects and speak about themselves and their work throughout the weekend. They will be the featured “quilt display”.
Attendees loved the Mini Classes, so we will continue this. The Mini Classes will be approximately 45 minutes each and the cost will be $10 per class. Vendors are encouraged in participating in the Mini Classes to take advantage of potential sales. Therefore, vendors must supply a kit for each student in their class. While students won't be expected to finish their kit during the Mini Class, they should be able to walk away with the knowledge and understanding of how to complete the project. Projects should be unique, fun, and identifiable with your store. The whole point of the class is for students to learn something new, and then go to your store to buy additional materials.
Springfield offers many activities for the entire family. According to Trip Adviser, “The Springfield Museums, located in the heart of downtown Springfield, Massachusetts, is comprised of four world-class museums covering art, history, and science, plus the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.”
Also, “the Armory, which manufactured and tested firearms for the U.S. military from 1794 to 1968, houses the country's largest collection of small weapons.” And if that isn’t enough, Springfield is the home of the Basketball Hall of Family and a short ride to 6 Flags Amusement Park. And of course, don’t forget the MGM Casino. Springfield truly is a place to bring the whole family.Attendees loved the Mini Classes, so we will continue
